Gabriel Bramböck (b. 1998) studied composition, piano and tuba at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, while also learning the organ, violin, voice, flute and clarinet.
His compositions explore the relationship of form and expression in a pluralistic world, and the interplay of mood and narrative. He has written works for orchestra, voices, ensembles, solo instruments and other instrumentations, as well as electronics. His compositions have been performed at venues such as the Brucknerhaus Linz, the Vienna Modern Festival, the Haus der Musik Innsbruck and the Vienna Konzerthaus, and have also been broadcast on radio and television. Performers include the Tyrolean State Youth Orchestra, the Upper Austrian Sinfonietta, the chamber orchestra InnStrumenti, the ensemble Windkraft – Kapelle für Neue Musik, and the vocal ensemble Company of Music. He has received several awards and scholarships, most recently the Hilde Zach Composition Scholarship.
In addition to his compositional work, he teaches piano and performs with different orchestras and ensembles across the country. Gabriel Bramböck is co-founder of the concert series antagōnisma – musik im widerstreit and the interdisciplinary artist collective kunstvolk. He is currently based in Innsbruck, Austria.
